National APIA Panhellenic Association Donates to World Vision’s Japan Quake and Tsunami Relief
The National APIA Panhellenic Association (NAPA) will donate to World Vision (www.worldvision.org) to aid the
Japan quake and tsunami relief efforts. Fraternal brothers and sisters, friends, and families are encouraged to join NAPA in sending a gift to help children and families impacted by the devastating quake and tsunami in Japan. Please spread the word!

The National Board of Regents is excited to recognize the University of Maryland at College Park as the ZETA CHAPTER of Kappa Phi Gamma Sorority, Inc.! With their re-establishment in 2006, the Actives and Alumnae of Zeta made many great strides on campus and within the National Sisterhood.  They have gone above and beyond the Boards expectations and have earned their right to be recognized as a Chapter. Please join us in congratulating Zeta Chapter on this momentous achievement. The Board wishes Zeta Chapter continued success as they lead the precedence for future Colonies to achieve Chapter Status!

Kappa Phi Gamma Sorority, Inc. is proud to become a newly initiated member onto the National Asian Pacific Islander American Panhellenic Association (NAPA). Starting in 2006, NAPA’s purpose is to create an umbrella organization that can unite Asian Fraternities and Sororities onto common causes and facilitate communication between the various organizations. Kappa Phi Gamma has joined with over 10 other national fraternities and sororities, uniting for the future betterment of each other. On Saturday, September 4th, 2010, the Charter line at Rutgers University – New Brunswick crossed over into the Kappa Phi Gamma Sisterhood at our Founding Chapter in Austin, Texas. We are extremely excited to have Omicron Colony as the newest addition to our family! Congratulations to our newest sisters Greeshma Hegde, Karishma Patel, Rina Patel, Priya Shah, Devshree Khachane and Shefali Shetty of Rutgers University for joining the Phirst and the Phinest! Much thanks to Out-of-State Intake and Rush Directors, Jessica George of Mu Colony and Michelle Paul of Founding Chapter for their tremendous hard work and patience.

Be the Change is an annual national day of service, coordinated by South Asian Americans Leading Together (SAALT), that is held on campuses and in cities across the country. The event is based on Mahatma Gandhi’s inspirational quote, “You must be the change you wish to see in the world,†and provides opportunities for South Asians to give back to their communities.  Be the Change will be held on Saturday, October 2nd, 2010, and Kappa Phi Gamma Sorority, Inc. is excited to be a National Partner this year! Contact your local Kappa Phi Gamma chapter or colony for more information!

Sorors enjoyed a Kappa Phi Gamma fun-filled weekend at Zeta Colony at the University of Maryland, College Park. Arriving on Friday, August 6th and departing on Sunday, August 8th, sisters enjoyed workshops, sisterhood activities and hours of bonding.
