Our Philanthropy

The Founders of Kappa Phi Gamma Sorority, Inc. chose cancer awareness as the sorority's national philanthropy. The Founders realized almost all of them had been affected by cancer in one way or another. This reiterated to the Founders that cancer is a disease that does not discriminate. They believed it was important to advocate and raise awareness to all manifestations of cancer. Our Sorority has supported various cancer-related organizations since we were founded and our sisters constantly engage in philanthropic work in service of all whom are affected by cancer.

C.A.R.E. Week

C.A.R.E. Week stands for Cancer Awareness: A Real Effort! Our national philanthropy week is typically held in April for national cancer awareness month. Sisters nationwide plan C.A.R.E. Week at their respective schools to raise awareness and funds for a local organization. Events for C.A.R.E. Week have included everything from a kick-off rally, volleyball tournaments, and our annual Mr. C.A.R.E. Pageant! Our sisters also hold a candlelight vigil in memory of those who have lost their lives to cancer. All the money raised during C.A.R.E. Week is donated to a non-profit organization.
